Connecting Families to Learning
Family engagement is an important part of the Strata Learning Academy community. Throughout the year, families are invited to events that bring them into the life of the program and provide opportunities to connect with educators and other families.

These gatherings offer meaningful moments to experience the classroom environment, celebrate community traditions, and strengthen the relationships that support children’s growth.

Events are designed to be simple, welcoming opportunities for families to spend time together while gaining a deeper understanding of their child’s learning experience.
Classroom Orientation
(August)
Kick off the school year with a virtual orientation where families meet their child’s educators and learn about classroom routines, expectations, and communication tools. This session helps families feel prepared and connected as the school year begins.
Happy Hall-oween
(October)
Children and families celebrate Halloween with costumes, classroom activities, and festive fun. The event encourages creativity, imagination, and shared enjoyment of the season.
Lunar New Year
(January/February)
Children and families explore the traditions of Lunar New Year through music, crafts, performances, and cultural activities that celebrate this global holiday.
Family Fun
(June)
Families come together for an afternoon of activities designed for children and adults to enjoy together. This event celebrates the relationships that make the Strata community special.
Park Day
(September)
Families gather for a relaxed morning outdoors where children enjoy free play while families and educators connect in an informal setting. Park Day helps build early friendships and strengthens community at the start of the school year.
Fall Festivities
(November)
Classrooms come together to celebrate the season through simple activities such as crafts, stories, or shared experiences that highlight gratitude and community.
Multicultural Celebration
(March)
This event honors the diverse cultures represented in the Strata Learning Academy community. Families are invited to share traditions, foods, music, and activities that reflect their cultural heritage.
Year-End Celebration
(July/August)
Each classroom hosts a celebration marking the end of the school year. Families reflect on the year’s experiences, celebrate children’s growth, and enjoy time together as the year comes to a close.
Learning in Action
(October)
Step inside the classroom and experience learning as it unfolds. Families observe teacher-guided activities, explore learning materials, and participate in a short group experience with their child.
Winter Celebration
(December)
Families join classrooms for seasonal crafts, songs, and activities that showcase children’s creativity and classroom learning before the winter break.
Teacher Appreciation Week
(May)
Families and children celebrate the dedication of educators through thoughtful gestures and expressions of appreciation during this special week.
